The level of the current  transformation of the civil service structure in Edo State by the Obaseki led administration cannot be overemphasized, a great  administrator who understands the importance of working with competent personnel and a condusive environment. The process, though gradual but has today completely changed the entire narrative of the Edo civil service system. 

When the APC led-administration saw nothing good about the civil service this led to the abandonment of the entire structures and personnels for they thought they are of no important value, when these innocent hardworking workers demand for their entitlement it amount to tug of war  leading to series of protest in the state.

As Obaseki continue to demonstrate commitment towards the Edo workers' welfare, this landed the civil service architecture into a modern society of great civilisation.

A primary school teacher who was publicly bullied and disgraced for allegedly not been able to read, just same period teachers in the state were on strike demanding for salary increament instead of given a listening ear for possible dialogue, but the then APC led-government decided to go head to head, suddenly we all saw a teacher in a press conference being bullied till she was completely humiliated then tagged incompetent, who will not shiver when the number one citizen decides to bully.

The system was killing our smart civil servants. All they needed was a rescuer like Obaseki, not a humiliator or a bully entity. The state witness series of protests from pensioners over none payment of pension and other allowances their monthly protest became a tradition in the state, what  a taboo we thought was a normal circumstances until Obaseki emergence as the governor  of Edo few years ago.

Obaseki transformed the  State Civil Service sector to a World-Class saw the need to further enhance the skills of every worker in the state, he saw the need to Provide a conductive environment of working for them, he transformed the system  into a modern, efficient, and world-class institution of endless learning and good delivery of services, leading to a  sustainable growth and development.

 

These transformations includes; Digitalization and automation of processes,  capacity building and training for civil servants, introduction of performance management systems, strengthening of institutional frameworks, improvement of welfare, and working conditions. 

The Godwin Obaseki Golden touch in the civil service structure indeed led to the present Enhancement of productivity and efficiency, Improvement of good service delivery to citizenry, Increased transparency and accountability in the system, Attraction of foreign investment and partnerships.

Where the APC led government saw no hope and nothing meaningful, the Obaseki PDP led-government saw hope and life. Today, all horrible experiences are history. 

As states In the federation struggle to pay the regular minimum wage Edo workers receive 70,000 as minimum wage, what a Godsent Godwin Obaseki.

Now they are set to throw their support behind Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie for the continuity of this great developmental gesture of good governance..
