EDO @33: ORHIONMWON COUNCIL CHAIRMAN UNVEILS STATE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT MASTER PLAN

...Council Boss recounts remarkable progress achieved so far

ABUDU: In a landmark event, the Edo State 30 Years Developmental Master Plan was today launched by the Orhionmwon Council Chairman, Hon. Newman Ugiagbe, in Abudu, the administrative headquarters of Orhionmwon local government area. This significant milestone marks a major step towards actualizing Governor Godwin Obaseki's vision for a resourceful, balanced, connected, smart, and sustainable region.


The unveiling ceremony, held in the Conference Hall of the Council's Secretariat, showcased the Governor's commitment to empowering future generations with a blueprint for continued success. Hon. Ugiagbe emphasized that the master plan will serve as a guide for balanced and organized development, ensuring that Edo State remains a beacon of progress.


As Edo State celebrates its 33rd anniversary, the Council Chairman reflected on achievements recorded so far while embracing a brighter future. He commended Governor Obaseki's administration for its remarkable achievements over the past seven and a half years, highlighting notable progress in Orhionmwon.


Some of the notable achievements mentioned include the revamping of the College of Education, Abudu, massive investment in oil palm which has attracted the construction of the 4.30KM Ugo-Evboesi road under the Edo State Infrastructure Development and Social Investment Tax Credit Scheme. 


Additionally, the ongoing construction of the Benin-Abraka Road, Court Complexes and Judges Quarters in Abudu, building and equipping primary healthcare centers, constructions of doctor's quarters, building and renovation of schools, and security were also highlighted.


The event was attended by major stakeholders in Orhionmwon, including traditional and religious leaders, youth representatives, security agencies, political party representatives, market women, community leaders, and civil societies. Their presence underscored the collective commitment to Edo State's development.


Hon. Ugiagbe emphasized that the Regional Master Plan will provide a framework for sustainable development, ensuring that Edo State remains a hub for economic growth and social progress.


The launch of the master plan marks a significant milestone in Edo State's journey towards achieving its full potential. With this blueprint, the state is poised to become a model for regional development in Nigeria.
