Edo2024: the people's might will prevail over federal might

Fear of defeat shakes Edo APC; many years after the practice of democracy in Nigeria its fundamental  principles continue to be challenged and eroded by corruption, populism and autocracy within our political system. The need for the citizenry to keep defending good governance by way of protecting the country's democratic settings is a thing of necessity which everyone must take as Paramount interest, as failure to do this will some day sink the nation completely.

Democracy which signifies the "dominant will of the greatest number of the people in a society" also gives rooms for political parties and individuals to present themselves to serve the people. By this, parties are expected to present their best for election, is this the case of Edo APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State? Of course not. 

The APC primaries which was characterised with irregularities was held over three times before a Candidate was announced, a candidate whose ideology is unknown to the people, continue to avoid public engagement, at least to discuss with the people he intends to lead. 

Edo APC having seen the handwriting on the wall over the total rejection of their candidate by the good people of Edo State, the Party have resorted to federal might to attain victory, with an unpopular slogan, *"Tinubu Nor Be Buhari"*, suggesting that Mr. President will facilitate the rigging of the all-important Edo election for the APC. 

As we approach the governorship election we wish to remind APC that a country's federal might is met to develop the country, to take the people away from the hardship and economic melt down, and not for rigging election for a preferred political party whose candidate has been totally rejected for his perceived incompetence and a crass lack of understanding of the real issues.

This is the time of campaign, I advise Edo APC to allow their candidate come out openly to present to Edo people his manifesto instead of hiding him at every given occasion, take our advise because there is no federal might coming from anywhere as the will of Edo people must prevail.

The Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie project is a movement beyond parties lines, the only candidacy in this history of Edo politics that has recorded highest number of endorsement from across party lines, this is a clear message that we are determined to cast our votes for  PDP/Asue-Ogie, protect our votes from the unit level, ward collation, constituency, LGA and to State. The will of Edo people is the will of God.
