Orhionmwon Council Boss Flags off Free Primary Health Care Service for Indigenes and Residents

 

In a move aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Orhionmwon, the Council Chairman, Hon. Newman Ugiagbe, has launched a free primary health care service for all indigenes and residents of the local government area.


The program, which is a joint initiative of the State and Local Governments, provides a basic minimum package of health services, including general consultation with prescribed drugs, health education, primary care surgery, and primary health pediatrics, among others.


Speaking at the launch, the Council Boss applauded the people-friendly initiative, which he said would go a long way in reducing the health burden of the people. He called on every indigene and resident to embrace the program, assuring them that the financial responsibility has already been taken care of by the State and Local Governments.

Speaking on behalf of the Council Chairman in Okogbo community, the Special Adviser to the Council Chairman, Deacon Jonathan Okunbor said, "the free primary health care service is a significant milestone in our efforts to provide quality healthcare to our people. We are committed to ensuring that every citizen of Orhionmwon has access to basic healthcare services, and we urge everyone to take advantage of this program."


The Council Boss also commended the State Government for its support and partnership in the initiative, saying that the collaboration would help to strengthen the healthcare system in the local government area.


Odionmware and Elders of Okogbo community praised the Council Boss for his commitment to the wellbeing of the people. "We have been suffering in silence, but with this free health care service, we can now access quality healthcare without worrying about the cost, we are indeed grateful," said the people.

The free primary health care service is available at accredited Primary Health Care Centers (PHC) across Orhionmwon, and residents are encouraged to visit any of the centers to access the services.


This initiative is a significant step towards improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Orhionmwon, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the community.
