International Women's Day; Orhionmwon Council Boss harps on the indispensable contributions of women in nation building

The Executive Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council Honourable Newman Oghomwen Ugiagbe today joined other gender-friendly individuals across the globe in celebration  of this year International Women's Day. The Council Boss said that today gives a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the women, to acknowledge their strength, resilience, and contributions to nation building.

The ALGON State Chairman emphasises the importance of inspiring women in their various field of endeavours, fostering a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment, disclosed that he recognises their invaluable inputs in his victory at the poll, hence the inauguration of Orhionmwon Women Advisory Council immediately he was sworn in as the Chairman.

While celebrating the resilience spirit of Orhionmwon Women, Honourable Ugiagbe acknowledged the powerful impacts, their courage, compassion, unwavering support and the unique strength within every woman.

March 8 is set outside every year to celebrate women globally. The day to celebrate  the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of every women worldwide. This year theme as postulated by the United Nations is 'Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress' with a focus on addressing economic disempowerment, while the campaign theme for this year is 'Inspire Inclusion.'
