Edo ALGON elects Executives as Orhionmwon Council Boss emerges Chairman

The Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon (Dcn) Newman Oghomwen Ugiagbe has been elected Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter, while Hon. Tajudeen Suleiman, Chairman of Akoko Edo Local Government Council emerged as Vice-Chairman. Also, Esan Central Local Government Council chairman Hon. Paul Iyoha was returned as the Association's Secretary.



Hon. Newman Ugiagbe who was unanimously elected by all the council Chairmen thanked his colleagues for the implicit confidence reposed on him to pilot the affairs of the Association. In his acceptance speech, the Orhionmwon born grassroot political mobilizer promised a harmonious working relationship with his executive members and other colleagues. He reiterated that his emergency as Chairman is as a result of the confidence by his colleagues of his ability to lead, so he promised not to let them down.


The new ALGON Boss promised to continue to work with the Executive Governor to ensuring good governance at the Local Government level.


While congratulating the newly inaugurated ALGON Chairman, the Executive Chairman of Uhunmwonde Local Government Council, Hon. Kenneth Adodo urged him to work in synergy with other council Chairmen to ensure delivery of democratic dividends to Edo people. 


Other chairmen also expressed their confidence in the ability of the newly elected ALGON Chairman to lead as they all work assiduously with the Governor to finish strong and Making Edo great Again.
