ORHIONMWON: As bid to woo Orhionmwon electorates to massively vote for the People Democratic Party candidates in the forthcoming council elections the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has described the chairmanship candidate of the party as the best man for the council job. The Governor made the declaration during Orhionmwon PDP rally held yesterday at Abudu, the administrative headquarters of Orhionmwon local government area.

While appealing to the people not to waste their votes for other parties, he described Deacon Newman Ugiagbe as the most competent man to pilot the affairs of the council haven worked with him in various capacities at the state level. The State Chief Executive said, "anything that'll make Orhionmwon develop, I'll do it. The first step is to have a competent and experienced council Chairman that love his people, someone that know the needs of the people and that person is Newman Ugiagbe. Orhionmwon you're lucky to have Newman, he has worked with me as Special Adviser on Community Matters, his passion and commitment to the people is unmatched"

Addressing the mammoth crowd gathered at the Esigie Comprehensive College Abudu, the People Democratic Party's state chairman Dr. Tony Aziengbemi reassured Orhionmwon electorates that the PDP candidate is not a neophyte in local government administration. In his word, "Deacon Newman is not new to the job, he has served in many capacities in the government even as council Boss, the records are there. Give him all the necessary supports and prayers, I have unwavering confident that he'll make you proud with his performances when elected".

In appreciating PDP leaders and members for the confidence reposed on him to fly the party ticket, the Okogbo born grassroot mobilizer and unifier, Deacon Newman Oghomwen Ugiagbe promised Orhionmwon people to expect the best from him as the job have been made easy for him because Governor Obaseki has laid the necessary solid foundation for him to build on. 

While describing the father-son relationship he enjoys with the Governor, the immediate past Orhionmwon Liaison Officer said relating the needs and aspirations of the people of Orhionmwon with the State Chief Executive wouldn't be an issue because he has closely worked with him and know how to table Orhionmwon matters with him. Ugiagbe said, "Orhionmwon council will be the easiest place for me to work because all the necessary apparatus and templates to work is already made available by the Governor. So we want to thank you, Mr. Governor for the love you have for Orhionmwon, we pray that God should continue to protect and guide you as you 'Finish Well"

Other speakers at the well attended PDP rally which includes the member representing Orhionmwon South at the Edo State House of Assembly Hon. Bright Iyamu, former Orhionmwon APC chairman Elder Benjamin Oghumu, the Honourable Commissioner for Information Chris Nehighare and former Special Adviser to Governor Obaseki Lady Uwa Osunbor urged Orhionmwon electorates to ensure they give their votes to the most qualified, experienced and generally acceptable candidate in the person of Deacon Newman Oghomwen Ugiagbe and the 12 Wards PDP councilorship candidates.

Present at the local government rally were Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha, PDP national deputy youth leader Elder Timothy Osadolor, Members of Edo State House of Assembly, PDP state and local government leaders.
